Vehicle Safety Ratings

Vehicles receive safety ratings by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Each organization performs tests based on their individual criteria. Visit our Grand Rapids, MI Jaguar Grand Rapids showroom and learn more about our rated vehicles and go for a test drive.

The IIHS performs five different tests on vehicles and then ranks them as poor, marginal, acceptable or good. Vehicles performing especially well receive a Top Safety Pick rating. Vehicles that perform even better receive the Top Safety Pick + rating. The tests involve how well the vehicle handles impacts to the front, side, and top. The restraints and seats are also tested for quality.

The NHTSA performs three tests on each vehicle. The vehicle then receives a one to five-star rating for each test. The organization performs a front and side impact test to determine the vehicle's durability and the extent of passenger injury. The third evaluation determines the results of a possible rollover.
